Gerard Hordyk 1899-1958. Dutch painter and muralist. Worked in Paris, Amsterdam and New York. Neighbor from Piet Mondrian while living in Paris. Figurative painter with a great interest in ballet and circus. Mondrian and Hordyk met again in New York during the second World War, they became close friends.

This drawing is depicted in the book 'Gerard Hordijk een kleurrijk schilder' on page 23. Including a photograph, dated 1928 by famous French photographer Marc Vaux.
