Otto van Rees (1884-1957), Dutch, moved to Paris and into the forefront of the international avant-garde. He studied at the Académie Carriere where he met, among others, Picasso and Braque. Van rees worked in the famous ateliers Bateau Lavoir. The above painting was done in Paris in 1906 and was exhibited in 1908 in Rotterdam with number 48 in the catalogue.
Provenance: G. Kuitenbrouwer (family of the artist) and latest a private collector.
