Adriaan Lubbers 1892-1954, visited New york for the first time in 1916, het stayed there for three years. He would come back there many times. He painted and made lithographs about how Manhattan developted in the years. Between 1928 and 1932 he lived in Paris were he became a friend of Piet Mondrian and Gerard Hordijk. The lithographs he made with Manhattan as subject are world famous.
